Considerations

Lower animal protein content in dog food brings many benefits. Nowadays, there is even a greater risk for a domestic dog from excessive intake of animal proteins than from a deficiency. A dog's body is not optimally adapted to processing an excess amount of proteins, as can happen with a monotonous diet, rich mostly in muscle meat, such as beef. Prolonged excessive protein consumption can negatively affect the metabolism of your four-legged friend, especially kidney function. This can often be recognized by symptoms such as itching, red spots on the skin (paws), and hair loss. However, it's important to note that these symptoms can also have other causes.
