Palmitoyl glucosamine (PGA) is a naturally occurring substance that helps maintain the integrity and physiological function of the intestinal mucosa. Micronized form (PGA-m) enhances the bioavailability of PGA and its ability to maintain a healthy intestine for dogs. New studies also note a anti-inflammatory effect.

PEA affects mast cells in the intestine, maintains proper distance between enterocytes, and has an enteroprotective effect. Mast cells in the intestine affect the reactivity of the mucosa and are guardians of stable state. Homeostasis is created by the intertwining of nerves, macrophages, leukocytes, and enteroglia cells.

Glucosamine is key in the formation of intestinal mucosa and supports the synthesis of glycocalyx, which protects the intestine from colonization of pathogenic microorganisms.

Electrolyte complex (sodium, potassium, and magnesium salts) maintains electrolyte balance. Tannic acid is a powerful astringent and improves stool consistency.
