Rigid Brace for Immobilizing Unstable Wrist

The brace is additionally reinforced with two metal rods that allow for varying levels of wrist immobilization. It is a dog orthosis that aids dogs during rehabilitation, post-surgery recovery, and has been developed as an effective alternative to the Robert Jones bandage.

Due to the adjustable metal rods, this type of brace allows for immobilization levels from 1-3 (scale: 0-4 means the highest level of immobilization).

  • For osteoarthritic wrist bones
  • Velcro strap ensures the brace fits well, without rubbing against fur and skin
  • 2 mm thick neoprene

Usage

  • For unstable wrists,
  • For wrist hyperextension,
  • For wrist osteoarthritis,
  • For post-surgical procedures,
  • For conservative treatment when surgery is not possible for various reasons.

If you notice your dog's paws sweating after applying the brace, remove it immediately and slightly loosen the straps - this is a sign the brace was too tight!!

How to properly fit the brace?

The wrist brace is fastened around the wrist just above the paw (plus or minus a few millimeters). Inside the brace, there is additional protection that ensures the safety of the tendon.
  • the brace must be fitted so that there is even pressure across the entire surface of the brace (therefore, stretch the neoprene well before fitting and separate the straps to tighten and adjust them to the paw's circumference more easily)
  • for the first few days, check every two hours what is happening with the skin under the brace to avoid any skin irritation (this way, you can also see if you might have tightened the straps too much)
  • the brace must always be fitted on dry skin
  • if you notice that the dog's paws are sweating after fitting the brace, immediately remove it and slightly loosen the straps – this is a sign that the brace was too tight!!
